Abstract
A healthy lifestyle does not become successful in one night for an elementary student between the age five through twelve. Compromises must be made between the educational idealism and the community resources in order to put forth the work toward the involvement of every aspect that created a method of teaching through cooking lessons. With the help of public insight from local programs, parents in the Monterey County and a Buyer for Child Nutrition Program; the researcher was able to find that the subject of lifestyles has been provide with cooking. Cooking lessons include more than the teachings of the basic subject matters of Mathematics, English and Geology. Food helps to establish a daily routine, morals, and self-discipline while using cooking lessons to teach about lifestyles. They also create a more meaningful aspiration for a development of self-awareness. The researcher found that cooking lessons do build meta-consciousness with the collected data from interviews with community programs in the Monterey County. Food can be used to reassure parents that their children are learning how to a healthy citizen with the support of structured and improvised cooking lessons that teach more than the basics inside of a classroom.
