Abstract
Some children do not have the resources to grow their reading comprehension skills. Due to lack of resources, parental support and motivation, At Olson Elementary School, "Olson Reads" is a program that promotes parental involvement with children's reading. For my project, I created a lunchtime book club, Lunchworms, for students who do not have the resources for "Olson Reads" and to enrich their reading comprehension. Parent volunteers were asked to help lead. In order to help them lead, I created lesson plans for a few books from each grade level, as well as a guide for the parent volunteers to make the lessons as productive as they can be. I created booklists for the 2nd through 5th grades for future use as well as a resource for children. Lunchworms will make a difference in encouraging children to read, and encourage parents to be involved in their children's reading comprehension.
