Abstract

I will be researching how the lack of environmental education in school's curriculum influences a child's education. I also have been designing lesson plans in correlation with the California State Standards to include more environmental education into curriculum's while fostering understanding and environmental awareness for students. I want to provide teachers with additional ideas and activities that can be used and incorporated into lesson plans or specific topics studied. My goal is to weave nature experiences into the curriculum by planning local community field trips to state parks and give teachers ideas on how to integrate nature into their classrooms.
