Abstract
My Capstone paper reviews the literature surrounding a mounting crisis in America -- high school dropouts. I will explore why high school students drop out, and the affects, cost and consequences of students not earning a high school diploma. I will also discuss the truth about graduation rates. The paper will conclude with a review of the qualities that lure at-risk high schoolers to stay in school and programs to improve student retention.
