Abstract
The purpose of this project was to create a quality set of training modules that teachers could use to enhance their reading instruction in special education classrooms. Using Constant Time Delay (CTD) to teach sight words is an effective strategy that is frequently used in special education. A series of PowerPoint modules was developed for teachers to present to paraprofessionals in order to provide quality research-based reading instruction to students. Feedback from local experts as well as from a field test of one of the training modules indicated that the information presented was useful and user-friendly. Implications for training paraprofessionals to use CTD strategies in the classroom are discussed.
