Abstract
Physical education is a discipline that has been looked upon in many educational institutions today. By reducing physical education time allowed during the school day, teachers are able to focus more on academic materials. This capstone examines the benefits of physical education on elementary school students’ learning. Although physical education programs varied, through literature review, questionnaires given to local elementary school teachers and observations in the Monterey County, the findings reveal that that physical education activities benefit elementary school students both at the physical and academic level.
