The Monterey County LGBTQ History Collection documents recent histories of local LGBTQ+ communities, including community-based newspapers, organizational newsletters, photographs, ephemera, personal papers and oral histories. You can learn more from an exhibit, Highlights from the Monterey County LGBTQ History Collection, a collaboration of CSUMB faculty and students, showcasing materials in the collection and organized by various themes. Each section includes downloadable examples of some of these materials to support student projects, teacher lesson plans, and general understanding of these histories. The section of Digital Commons below brings together all those materials in one place, but we encourage visitors to consult the exhibit for greater context about these individual items.
