Abstract

Catholic Charities Diocese of Monterey assists clients with Cal- new applications. The community faces food insecurity and struggles to make ends meet to put food on the table. Factors include food deserts, lack of time, and inability to afford nutritious food, leading to families consuming more fast food or developing health issues. The English with Spanish subtitles informational video shows a past Cal-fresh recipient and essential information related to the Cal-fresh application process. The video has allowed the agency to receive more exposure to their service of assisting with calfresh applications. The video has been uploaded to the agency’s social media platforms and shared with other partners in the area. Having more in-person presentations about the agency’s services will increase the awareness of the agency and provide more members of the community with the assistance they need.
