Abstract
This senior capstone examines teachers’ classroom management and the effects of mainstreaming students with special needs. This project discusses the impact that mainstreaming students with special needs has on a general education classroom. Through the use of literature reviews, peer reviewed articles, and multiple interviews with instructors, a Speech Language Pathologist, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the findings revealed that mainstreaming students with special needs does have an effect on teachers’ classroom management. More specifically, mainstreaming students requires additional one to one instructional time and resources than a general education classroom student.
