Abstract
A large percentage of elementary school students in California’s public schools do not receive enough environmental education. California’s environment needs to be better protected. Therefore, children should be learning about environmental issues. Teachers, students and a district worker were interviewed or surveyed. From the research it was deduced, that although most teachers place great importance on environmental education, not all of them make the time to incorporate it into their curriculum. It was thus proposed, that parents should take action and teach their children, as best they can, about the environment. Overall, it was learned that students enjoy learning about the environment and regardless of the age of their children, parents can support teachers by talking to their children about environmental issues.
