Abstract
Holistic education, ancient yet new, is still a marginal movement, but it is an intelligent way to bring commitment, connection, and spirit back to teachers and students by engaging their whole selves. Understanding this educational perspective is necessary for humanity to evolve and thrive. This paper will provide an overview to those who have not already heard about and begun to see the benefits of the holistic perspective by addressing some of the fundamental historical, theoretical and current knowledge on this topic. This paper presents a small illumination of how holistic education promotes multiculturalism, instills environmental sensitivity, and helps create a culture of peace.
